The American Heart Association’s annual Go Red for Women campaign wishes to enlighten all of us and introduce us to all the health factors about our heart. However, it is has mostly strived towards women so far, in order to show the world heart diseases are not a mens disease only.

There has been a study that has shown that only 13% of women treat heart diseases as the most serious threat to their health. But, it is only the truth that cardiovascular diseases kill 1 in 4 women which makes it more deadly than breast cancer.

There is also some good. The message is spreading. The cardiovascular deaths in women’s population have been dropping for 5 consecutive years. And, the problems occur much later than they used to.

Stay true to what your doctor says

Doctors such as the ones at the Mayo Clinic, say that a healthy diet, regular exercising and low stress are one of the top ways for preventing cardiovascular diseases. You should consult your doctor for preventing such diseases. Even skipping breakfast might help the chances for the presence heart – related disease rise.

There are many ways to manage your stress

We can say that most of us know the basics. We know that exercise is great and smoking – terrible. Don’t eat too many eggs, but don’t starve. We often forget about stress.

Stress plays a bigger role than experts once thought. It can be as damaging as smoking. Stress sometimes encourages bad habits such as drinking, smoking overeating or even insomnia. It can also weaken the immune system.
